Oxford apprenticeship awards193

On Tuesday 19 December, staff including the 64 nominees of the 2023 Apprenticeship Awards gathered at the Natural History Museum to celebrate the achievements of exceptional apprentices from across the collegiate University who have made a real difference to their workplace. The Awards also recognised line managers who support their apprentices and promote apprenticeships within their departments, and training coordinators and mentors who have gone the extra mile.

There are currently over 200 apprentices at the University and more than 64 nominations were submitted across the seven award categories. The winner of the Shining Star Apprentice Award was Caitlin Beane, Apprentice HR Officer at the Department of Paediatrics. She said: "I loved doing an apprenticeship in HR, especially with the Department of Paediatrics. It has given me invaluable hands-on experience alongside the support of an amazing team. Receiving this award is one of my proudest achievements as an apprentice. I am overjoyed to be staying in the Department of Paediatrics and excited to continue my career in HR."

Amy Scaysbrook, Apprentice Finance Assistant in IT Services received the Intermediate & Advanced Apprentice Award. She said: “Completing my apprenticeship has helped me to flourish and grow as a person; my confidence and communication has improved massively. Winning my award was a great experience and has helped me feel proud of the work that I do and the impact I have on the people around me.”
