Celebrating the achievements of University apprentices and those who support them

The University’s annual Apprenticeship Awards took place on Wednesday 11 December 2024 at the Museum of Natural History. The awards celebrate the achievements of apprentices across the University, as well as the invaluable support of their line managers and training providers. With live music and refreshments set against the stunning backdrop of the Museum’s artefacts, the evening was a fantastic conclusion to the year.

This year a record 101 nominations were submitted across seven award categories, with over 200 registered to attend; a significant increase from last year, demonstrating the growing popularity and recognition of apprenticeships across the University.

Opened by Vice-Chancellor Professor Irene Tracey, each category was judged by the University’s apprenticeship training providers and organisations who received financial support from the University through the transfer of levy money to fund their own apprenticeship schemes.

This award celebrates the achievements of apprentices undertaking Level 2 & 3, including Technicians.

This award category celebrates the achievements of apprentices undertaking Levels 4, 5, 6 and 7, including Technicians.

This category celebrates individuals who have made outstanding progress in their career since completing their first Apprenticeship.

This category celebrates external Training Coordinators and Tutors who have gone above and beyond their role to support their apprentices.
